The header search tool can be activated directly from the Design section of your SITE123 editor. Follow the instructions below to turn it on, make basic adjustments, and preview how it will look on your website – all without leaving the editor.
Steps to reproduce:
- Log in to your SITE123 account
• Browse to https://app.site123-staging.com/manager/login/login.php and sign-in with your username and password. - Open the relevant website project
• After login, you will be forwarded automatically to the website’s editor (Wizard). - Go to the Design tab
• In the top menu of the editor, click Design. - Open the Header section
• In the left-hand Design navigation, choose the third item (Header). - Enable the search box
• Inside the Header settings locate Search Tool and tick the checkbox to activate it. - Edit search settings (optional)
• Click the Edit button (pencil icon) next to the Search Tool option to adjust its style, alignment, or behaviour. When finished, click Close to save your changes. - Preview the search icon on your site
• Inside the live preview frame on the right, click the magnifying-glass icon in the header to confirm that the search overlay opens correctly.
By turning on the Search Tool in the Header section, visitors will see a magnifying-glass icon in your site’s navigation bar, allowing them to quickly search your content. You can return to the same Design > Header panel at any time to disable or further customise the feature.
