Domain Choice Tips (and how long does it take for a domain to work and show on Google?)

Choosing a domain:

• Brand alignment: Use your business name or a relevant keyword so it’s easy to remember.
• Simplicity: Avoid hyphens and numbers to reduce typing mistakes.
• Length: Try to keep it under 16 characters.

Timing / visibility:

• Propagation: After ordering a domain and verifying the registration, it can take up to 72 hours to fully propagate. Even if your dashboard shows “connected,” it may still take a few hours—if everything is set correctly, wait about an hour and check again (and allow more time if it’s still updating).
• Search engines: A new domain can take time to appear in search results. To help, make sure the domain is connected and your site is online, then connect your site to Google Search Console and submit a Sitemap.
