As an Expert, you have the flexibility to determine how you manage your client relationships and website ownership. You can either maintain full control over a project or transfer the site directly to your client.
If you choose to keep the website under your Expert account, you remain the primary point of contact.
Financial Responsibility – You handle all payments with your own credit card and receive invoices in your name.
Maintenance – You are responsible for routine updates, content management, and manual renewal payments.
Customer Relationship – In this scenario, you are considered the customer, and you manage all communications regarding the site.
If you prefer that the client handles their own billing and maintenance, you can transfer ownership to them.
Client Ownership – The client becomes the official owner and the customer.
Billing and Payments – The client is responsible for upgrading to a premium package, paying for renewals, and receiving invoices in their own name.
Collaboration – To maintain access after a transfer, select the Remain as contributor option. This allows you to continue editing and supporting the site while the client handles the administrative side.
Transfer Timing – For the best experience, transfer the website before upgrading to a premium package. This ensures the client’s billing information is used for the initial purchase and all future invoices.
Progress Sharing – During the building phase, you can choose to share the progress with your client by giving them access or adding them as a contributor before deciding on final ownership.
