Organizing your products into categories and subcategories is essential for helping customers navigate your catalog and find exactly what they are looking for.
To structure your product catalog, use the following navigation flow:
In the Website Editor, click the Pages tab.
Locate your Store page and click the Store button.
Click Categories in the left-hand menu of the store manager.
Once in the Categories section, you can build and organize your collections:
Add New Category: Enter a name (e.g., "Jewelry" or "Accessories") in the text field at the bottom and click Add.
Add Subcategory: Click the blue Manage Category button for an existing group and select Add Subcategory from the dropdown to create more specific layers (e.g., "Rings" under "Jewelry").
Populate Categories: Use the Manage Category button and select Select Products to add existing items, or choose Create New Product to add a fresh item directly to that group.
Visual Organization: Drag and drop categories in the list to change their display order, or drag products directly into specific categories to move them.
Click the Pencil icon next to any category to edit its specific information:
Media: Add a header image for the specific catalog page and a separate image to represent the category on your store's homepage.
Descriptions: Write a summary for the collection to provide context for your customers.
SEO Settings: Scroll down within the edit window to set custom meta tags for each category. This helps search engines like Google index your collections more effectively.
Category Counts: The list displays the number of products currently assigned to each group (e.g., "Shoes (1)") so you can monitor your catalog's balance at a glance.
Deletion: If a collection is no longer needed, click the Trashcan icon to remove it.
