Hotjar allows you to visualize how visitors interact with your site using heatmaps, session recordings, and feedback surveys. By understanding user behavior, you can make data-driven decisions to improve your conversion rates.
Before starting in the website editor, you need to obtain your unique identification code from Hotjar.
Log in to your Hotjar account (or create one at hotjar.com).
Navigate to your Sites & Organizations settings.
Locate your website and copy the Site ID (this is a unique numeric string).
Once you have your Site ID, follow these steps to activate the integration:
In your Website Editor, click the Settings (gear icon) and select Plugins.
Click the Add New button and select Add New Plugin.
Type Hotjar into the search bar and click the Add button next to the tool.
In the Application ID field, paste the Site ID you copied from Hotjar.
Ensure the Enable toggle is set to Yes.
Click Save.
For the tracking to begin, you must push the update to your live site:
Click the Publish button in the top corner of your editor.
Tip: After publishing, you can go back to your Hotjar dashboard and click "Verify Installation" to ensure the data is flowing correctly.
