Intercom is a comprehensive customer communication platform that allows businesses to interact with users personally and at scale. With integrated tools for sales, marketing, and support, Intercom enables you to send targeted messages through your website, mobile apps, and email.
To link Intercom to your website, you need to retrieve your unique Workspace ID (also known as an App ID) from your Intercom dashboard.
Log in to your Intercom account (or create one at intercom.com).
Click on your Profile icon in the bottom-left corner and select Settings.
Navigate to Installation and select Web.
Locate your App ID (this is a unique alphanumeric code found within the JavaScript code snippet).
Once you have your App ID, follow these steps to activate the messenger on your site:
In your Website Editor, click the Settings (gear icon) and select Plugins.
Click the Add New button and select Add New Plugin.
Type Intercom in the search bar and click the Add button.
In the Application ID field, paste the App ID you copied from Intercom.
Set the Enable toggle to Yes.
Click Save.
To make the Intercom Messenger visible to your visitors, you must update your live site:
Click the Publish button in the top corner of your editor.
Tip: You can use Intercom’s "Outbound" features to automatically send welcome messages to new visitors, helping you start conversations and capture leads immediately.
