Use the Cookie-Consent tool to display a banner that informs visitors your site uses cookies and, if required, obtain their consent. You can enable the banner, edit its text, decide where it appears, and control whether it is shown only in certain countries or to every visitor.
Steps to reproduce:
- Log in to your SITE123 account and open the relevant website in the editor.
- At the top of the editor click Design (the paint-brush icon).
- In the left sidebar choose Footer.
- Scroll down and tick the Enable Cookie Consent checkbox. The Edit button becomes available.
- Click Edit to open the Cookie-Consent settings window.
- Text
• Click the Consent Message field and type the sentence you would like to show (e.g., “We use cookies to improve your experience.”).
• Click the Button Text field and type the label for the confirmation button (e.g., “Got it”).
- Countries (Optional)
• Toggle Show Only In Selected Countries on if you need the banner to appear only in GDPR-affected regions.
• Click the “0 selected” link and pick the countries from the list, then click Apply.
- Position
• Open the Position drop-down and choose Top, Bottom, or Floating according to your design preference.
- Behaviour
• Require Action – enable this switch if visitors must click the button before continuing to browse.
• Disallow Cookies Until Accepted – enable if your site should not set any non-essential cookies until consent is granted.
- When you are done, click Save to apply the changes.
- Publish your site for the banner to appear live.
You can fully control the Cookie-Consent banner from the Footer section of Design. Enable it, customise the text, decide where and to whom it appears, and set whether action is mandatory before cookies are stored. Always remember to save and publish so visitors see the updated banner.
