Where can I check if a domain name is available?
Log into your domain management acount, clik on "Search and Buy a domain", in the search box enter the desired domain name and its ending, if its available you'll get instructions how to buy it.
How can I buy a domain?
After finding an available domain name, fill in the acquirers' details and press "Order Now".
In what language can I register a domain name?
A domain name must in the English language and can only contain the following none alphabetical character: '-'.
Can I change the domain name after I ordered it?
No. Unfortuntly you can not change or edit the domain name after your order is made.
I ordered a domain name, how long does it take until I can use it?
The domain availablilty varies according to the domain type. Some are ready to use within 8 hours, and some are ready only after 72 hours. We recommend advertising the domain after 72 hours to allow all world wide servers to be updated with the new name. You can check your domain status by trying to access it. To do that click on the "Enter" button next to the domain name. If you were able to enter, the domain is active.
What happens to the domain if I don't renew my ownership?
If you don't renew your ownership of the domain name, it will become available for anyone to purchase.
Can I buy a domain name even tough I don't have a deal with any hosting provider?
Yes. You can buy as many domain names as you like and "park" them. Anyone entering one of your domains will see a temporary page with the contact information you provided or a message about the upcomming website.
Terminology
What is TLD and how many are available?
TLD, or "Top Level Domain" is the ending part of the domain name. The most popular ones are: .com, .net, .org
There are also restricted TLDs (rTLD) such as: .edu, .ac, .museum, that require their owners to be part of a certain community. For example, .edu is intended for educational institutions.
Another type of TLD is the ccTLD - "Country-Code Top Level Domain", indicates a certain geographic location. For example, ".co.il" is for commercial websites in Israel.
Remember - your chosen TLD informs your sites' frequenters of your sites' purpose!
What is DNS?
DNS stands for "Domain Name Server", which is equivalent to an "Internet phone book". The DNS contain domain names that match a certain IP address. This allows people to type the name of your website instead of its' IP address numbers in the web browser. It takes between 24 and 72 hours to update the DNS with the domain name.
What does "parking" a domain name mean?
"Parking" a domain means that you purchased a domain name but you don't have a website or you are not going to use it for a while. In this case the system will "park" the domain name and anyone who type it in a web browser will get a page with your contact information. It is recommended to park domains if you want to sell them in the future.
Using the domain management account
Where can I see the domains I own?
Enter the domain management account and click on the "Domain List" tab.
When will I be notified that my domains' about to expire?
It will appear in the "Domains to be renewed" section of the domain management account 60 days before the ownership expires.
How do I "park" a domain I don't use at the moment?
Domain parking is done automatically when purchasing a domain without assigning a DNS or a forwarding address to it. You can read about parking a domain in the Terminology part of this page.
How can I edit the information in the parking page?
Login to your domain management account, click on "Parking" and enter the information you want to appear in the parking page.
How can I update the DNS settings?
Login to your domain management account, click on the "Domain List" tab, at the desried domain click on "Edit", and update the DNS settings.
What is "Users Forwarding Address"?
Every domain can be forwarded to an existing address by going to the domain "Edit" and entering the forwarding address in the "Users Forwarding Address" field. This way several domains can be defined for a single website.
